Good old phineas Gage sparked studies by our amigos Paul Broca and Carl Wernicke. Localization of brain function done through empirical study further enhanced our understanding of biological aspects of psychology. Broca and Wernicke concluded processing language is localized within brain. Broca's area- left front lobe, patient's name was Tan and he could not speak (except for saying the word tan, go figure). Wernicke's area- patient's could produce speech, but not understand it (kind of like Obama reading from a teleprompter).

Very nice Steve!!! Great topic - be sure to explain how this is an example of empirical research. You want to show off that you understand the terminology in the question. Great post!
